Whether you are a brand new blogger looking for ways to monetize your blog or a veteran blogger looking for ways to boost your blog income, WordPress plugins are an amazing free resource to utilize in doing so.

When I started out, I was using ads and affiliate marketing as my only points of income from my blog. Even though these are just a few of many ways to generate income from your blog, they are great starting points to work from. You don’t want to start with too much on your plate as you will get burnt out quickly.

I use Shareaholic on my site and throughout my blog. Shareaholic is great for boosting your blog through easy sharing but also offers options to monetize through placing ads underneath your content. Once I found out about this plugin, I could not resist. You can download and install the plugin through the WordPress plugins page and it will direct you for where to go to sign up for Shareaholic. Then you are all set!

Pretty Link
Pretty link cleans up the link structure of your affiliate links and keeps them all in one manageable interface within your WordPress site setup. This way all of your affiliate links you might use daily in your blog posts will be easy to access, easy to add into your posts, and are more attractive to your users so they are more likely to click on them.

For example, they would convert this link structure into this This way your users trust what they are clicking and overall makes your site more trustworthy. Depending on the amount of affiliate links you have to add into the plugin content managed list, it can become a bit time consuming but100% worth it in the long run. WordPress Plugins

If you want control over your ad’s placement, style and experience, I highly recommend AdRotate. With AdRotate you can easily place advertising banners pretty much anywhere on your site while managing almost everything from the easy to use dashboard. No fussing with your theme’s code if you don’t want to. Create your own adverts with basic HTML/Javascript code or use adverts from your favorite Ad Server such as DFP, AdSense, Chitika, Doubleclick, JuiceAds and many similar services. All you have to do is download and install the plugin and you are ready to go.

Amazon Link Engine
This plugin will make Amazon affiliate links international so that they work in every local Amazon store. This way if you have site visitors from more than one country, you will still get credit if they use your local Amazon affiliate link. You must download, install, and sign up for the plugin to work. You download and install the plugin here, sign up here, and then enter your API and watch magic happen.

Google Analytics Dashboard for WP
This Google Analytics for WordPress plugin makes it possible for you to track your site and view key Google Analytics stats right on your WordPress dashboard with in depth page and post reports. This way you don’t have to keep checking a separate site or application to track how your site and latest content are doing.

Using this plugin helps me keep on top of what is working for me and what isn’t. It gives me insights on what strategies in my posts generate the most engagement thus giving me the ability to predict what to do and not do so I can better control my income flow from said content.

It is updated often, about every couple weeks or so, which ensures the latest Google Analytics code is in sync with your plugin!

So those are just a few of the many amazing free plugins out there WordPress has to offer to help boost your blog’s income.

I enjoy blogging because with my web development background, playing around with WordPress and the potential of my site is exhilarating! I like to experiment with everything I do and try as many new things as possible. I wanted to create an online social experiment with the idea of not only expanding my own mind, but others’ minds as well.

And with that idea, I created the blog ILIKETODABBLE. A blog mostly about frugal/thrifty living and blogging to help other bloggers like me! But the blog will also feature an array of other categories as suggested by the readers :). Happy blogging!
